History Brush not working on my Frequency Separation

History Brush not working on my Frequency Separation. I've been using the History Brush with Frequency Separation on different Mac's but now when I try to create a Frequency Separation from a new file on my home Mac with PS CC 2019 and do some retouching and then try to use the History Brush I get an error message "Could not use the history brush because the history state does not contain a corresponding layer". Any solution to this issue?...what am I doing wrong here?

I can't tell from the screenshot, but I've often found that if I created a new snapshot before I invoked the History brush, I could set the right conditions by using that snapshot as my source. I'm not saying that's your problem, since I can't see what might have changed about the document since the opening snapshot, and I don't use the History brush with frequency separation.

But if your initial History options are set up the same on all Macs, the only thing I can suggest you try is to create a new snapshot after set-up (or at least after any significant alteration to the document itself) and before you do anything else,  target that as the History to use. Maybe it will do what you're after.

I actually had close the file and open it again...I’ll try using snap shot next time.

Thanks!
