Can't you use the History-Panel?

I went onto the history panel and there was nothing there, except my moves before it went black and white, the colour has however come back i clicked on another layer and it seemed to be fine afterwards so not sure what happened., Thank you

You probably switched to viewing a single color channel (red, green, or blue) rather than the composite (red, green and blue).

Try pressing command 2, Mac or control 2, Windows. Or go to the Channels Panel and click on RGB.

I have my fingers crosssed that this is it.

Step One, like a robot I hit CTL-J and make a non-destructive layer. Is there any chance the file is in Lightroom?
