Guidelines not showing up until I drop them

When I drag a guideline from the ruler in Photoshop, it doesn't show up until I let go of the mouse. It is extremely difficult to line it up with an existing image if I can't see it. If I zoom in, it still doesn't quite line up with where it appears the cursor is. This feature worked fine in version 5 but doesn't now.

are you using Elements? What OS/version are you running on?

Hi, does anyone know what this fix is please, I'm also experiencing the same issue in Photoshop CC 2021 on Mac OSX Catalina 10.15.7

After a clean install of CC on a new iMac, I can no longer see the guidelines when dragging out from the ruler, or when you grab the guide and move it again, they're white dotted lines and only appear when you let go of the mouse?? You have to guess that you're lined up next to the element - it doesn't snap to the element anymore either?

Any help would be greatly appreciated - I can't work with it like this!

After 25+ years of using Photoshop, I have to say that this latest CC version is extremely BUGGY! :-(

Thanks, Natalie
