Files with many Layer Comps in Photoshop CS6 open and run very slowly

In Photoshop CS6, files with many layer comps seem to cause Photoshop to run very slowly, and open ever slower. This is on a iMac running Lion 10.7.3 with a 2.93ghz processor and 8gb of RAM,

Have tested this with 2 different PSDS — Both relatively small filesize (About 45mb) on a local drive. These files open quickly in Photoshop CS5 (12.0.4) and runs without issue.

I've tried to optimize Photoshop CS6's performance for these files, setting the cache and tile size to Tall and Thin, 20 history states and 2 cache levels. Doesn't seem to make much difference...

Any ideas?

Photoshop CS6 extremely slow when using more than ~15 layer comps. I have a user who was working on a file, ~36MB, with ~30 layer comps. When she would use the transform tool any attempt at trying to change the size of selection box would take minutes to update and then not actually move where she wanted. Even just trying to nudge an object a few pixels would result in minutes of nothing happening.

We really need example images that show this sort of slowdown.
Simple test images with many layer comps don't seem to show the problem.
