CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+click on channel thumbnail ?

Page 125 of Adobe Photoshop CC Help document shows a table of keyboard shortcuts for the Channels panel. There is an entry for 'Intersect with current selection' which is invoked with Windows keyboard shortcut CTRL+ALT_SHIFT+click on channel thumbnail.What does this do? I can't find any description of 'intersect with current selection' in the document.

If you draw two rectangles and have them partially overlap each other, where they overlap is the intersection. So if you invoke that, all of the rectangles outside of the place where they overlap will disappear from the selection.

Further, I just double-checked, and the functionality is working fine.  The selection mechanism is a little more sensitive now than in years past, but it does work.
