Color picker not working outside of the color selector

Hi,

In Photoshop CS6 in the color selector (from tools bar).

With Shift / Option / Command (can't remember) Key down, I could select color even outside photoshop window by keeping the click down (on the colors selector) and drag the mouse outside the colors selector's window (and so, to get the selected color as "foreground color").

Especially usefull to get a website's color, when the color picker doesn't exist on browsers !

Either the shortcut is different, or I don't know. :)

Have a nice day.

Are you remembering to start dragging in the document window, not inside the Color Picker? I don't hold down any modifier keys. Never have that I can recall. The modifier keys  don't work.

Just dragging from the doc window is working just fine for me on a Mac with Mojave. If that's doesn't work for you, then knowing what Mac OS you're running and what steps you're taking would help the troubleshooters here.
