Can't make full selection from doughnut shape path

Make a circle with the pen tool. Make a circle within that circle then name the new path. Command click the path and note if you have a doughnut selection or a circle from the outer path. I'm getting a circle not a doughnut like I was earlier today. Did I fat finger some keys that might have changed this?

Usually when I haven't heard from anyone it either means the answer is right in front of my face or I have in fact stumped the geniuses. That said, maybe no one has ever had this problem.

Ok, so I called Adobe. If this ever happens to you, you need to Reset the Tool. Either select for that tool or all tools. They say it happens if you've been working in Photoshop for a long time.

It's also a good idea to purge your Camera Raw

Click the Camera Raw Preferences... button.

When it opens, you can you can adjust the Max Size if you want (the Adobe guy adjusted it from 5gb to 12 upon seeing I had 1.7tb of drive space left. Don't ask me how this should be set) and click the Purge Cache button.

I wonder if I can set up an action to do this. If you work in PS all day, he said it's good to purge once a day. I SAID PURGE THE CACHE NOT BINGE AND PURGE - honestly friends! HTH.
