22.4.2 - suddenly photoshop doesn't recognise my GPU?

My PC isn't fancy but I have an nvidia geforce gt 1030 card in a PC with 16GB RAM running the latest Windows 10 21H1 Pro.  Video driver is the latest.

I'm now getting the issue of "Could not complete your request because it only works with OpenGL enabled document windows" when creating a new image and clicking on it.

And in the performance settings in Photoshop it says it is now an unrecognised GPU - whereas this has definitely not been the case until recently.

I've tried a few things - running PS in admin mode, adding the AllowOldGPUS setting in the registry (now removed).  Still the same issue.

Is this (still) a known issue?

(Lightroom still detects the GPU fine)

Thank you for posting this information, I believe it would beneficial to try a "Clean Install" of the nVidia driver. 

This one on June 10th is the latest for your 1030 gpu card https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/results/176267/

Normally I would suggest a Studio driver vs a Game Ready driver because Studio drivers tend to be more stable but there does not seem to be one available.
