What happened to Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition?

I used Photoshop Album for some time, adding tags and making collections. I can no longer activate the product. Have I lost all of my work?

I KNOW, BUT AT LEAST THE NEXT TIME YOU HAVE IMAGES IN AN ALBUM ON-LINE, THEY WON'T PULL THE RUG FROM UNDER YOUR FEET!! THE ALBUM IS ALWAYS THERE ON YOUR PC

Read David's post. The files *are* stored on your PC, and Starter Edition just stores a thumbnail and the location of the file on your computer:

I believe my puter came with Adobe Photoshop Album Started (free version) which worked very well for me. My puter crashed and I used a Windows XP restore disk. I lost everything including Photoshop. I suppose that version is no longer available? Can I please get it back?

Photoshop Album Starter Edition is no longer available. You could try Photoshop Elements 10 ($99 US) or Photoshop.com's Express Editor and Organizer which are free.

I have tons of pics backed up using the original Photoshop that I want to import into either Elements or Lightroom (I use both). How would I do this?
Thanks!

I have photos in Adobe photoshop album starter edition 3.2. I had not used the computer for some time that edition 3.2 is in. When I tried to retrieve the photos from 3.2 I was asked to register that edition of photoshop, but when I tried I was told 3.2 was no longer available that I would need to get adobe photoshop elements 9. I purchased elements 9 but still can't get the original photos in 3.2 unlocked so i can retrieve the photos. What do I need to do to unlock starter edition 3.2 to allow me to get the original photos out of there. After installing elements 9 it copied the album names but no photos. Thanks in advance Patrick Hiddleston

I have followed and done everything I can do. Open elements, sign in click organize, select file catalog click convert button, etc.... I have downloaded some new pictures into photoshop.com. I don't have an Adobe account, or if I did, I have no idea what my password or ID was. I give up, but thanks anyway. I have now spent 3 hours trying.

I'm a bit fuzzy on what you getting at here. It sounds like you've successfully converted your catalog (but from what to what, I do not know). How are you "downloading" (uploading) images to Photoshop.com if you do not have an account? Are you doing it from Photoshop Elements? If you don't know your password, just use the Forgot Password like on the log-in page. Your ID should be your email address.

I do have an account with photshop.com and can access it successfully. I do not have an adobe account. I was trying to get my older pics from Adobe 3 into photoshop.

Photoshop.com account and Adobe.com account are basically the same thing. The log in's will work in each web site.

But there is no option to upload images to Adobe.com, except to post them on the forum.

Are you suggesting that you don't have a Photoshop Album account? If so, there is no such thing. The product, when it was active, required periodic registration. This is not an account, it was just a way of retieving a code. We no longer generate those codes, Album has gone the way of the Dodo. However, you don't need Album to be operating in order to get to your images.

Please carefully and completely read the document that was posted at the beginning of this thread. I'll repost the link for ease of use: cpsid_87065.

Thank you for all your help. I have decided it is not important to transfer the old pics to photoshop. I will continue to use photoshop for new photos.

The answer of Brett N does'nt match, when I click the "Convert" button, it's says me that the catalog must be repaired with the software I used to create it (i.e. Photoshop Album Starter 3.2), but it does'nt exist a function to repair it.

Note: I used for the conversion the Photoshop Elements 10 (Brett N spoke of Photoshop Elements 9 ...)

What can I do ? Thanks for an answer !

I think this was answered on another thread. You'll get this error if Starter Edition is still running when you go to open up the catalog and convert it. First quit Starter Edition, then launch Elements and open the catalog to convert it.

Thanks for your answer. But still yesterday I tried to convert the catalog without to open Starter Edition. I try again today and the programm says newly, after he indicate a percentuale of conversione of 1%, that the catalog must be repaired with the software I used to create it.

Any other idea to solve my problem ?

I have the photoshop starter edition. Somehow my pictures have been deleted from my computer but they are still in Adobe. I want to save them onto a USB but I can't directly from Adobe. So is there any way I can save the pictures if they are not in any file folder?

Thanks
Lydia

'Photoshop Album Starter Edition' only keeps the reference of your files on hard disk. So, there is no way to save them if you've deleted them.

Still you can try 'File' menu --> Export
