Photoshop Elements: Why is the photo in save for the web have different coloration from Elements edit photo?

When I send my photo to save for the web from Elements 9 editiing the photo's colors are dark and very dull. If I cancel and go back to editing is photo is vibrant with color. I try again and still when I am in save for the web all color is dark and dull. If I save this photo the saved photo is this same dark and dull color. I have tried this over and over and still the same thing is happening.

Marilyne.

When you go to Edit > Color Settings, what option is selected at the moment?

Try this:

Image > Convert Color Profile > and choose Convert to sRGB Profile.

Your monitor's calibration might be off. If the above works, you might need to calibrate your monitor.

That's probably the correct answer.

It now looks better. How do I calibrate my monitor? I still lost a little color in the second photo > save for the web.

You will see a slight desaturation of some colors because sRGB has a smaller gamut than Pro Photo RGB - but sRGB is the color that most applications/browsers understand until more of them become color managed.

Thank you. I manage the website for our Art Guild and want the paintings colors as true to the original art as possible. Sometimes I do bump up the color just a little because of the small size that I use on our website.
