To clarify, you open a camera raw file, you perform you edits in the Camera Raw dialog box, then click the "Open" button and this error occurs?

Are you able to open other format images in Photoshop Elements Editor? (JPEG, PSD, etc)

Does this happen with all Raw files?

What camera does the Raw file(s) come from?

Simply come to a point where the editor didn't opened at all, with this message from Windows Microsoft Visual c++Runtime Library:
"this application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way"
I've decided to reinstall elements 10,and after a good fight with something like "shared tecnology".
Guess what?A miracle!
It's working perfetly well...so far.
Thanks to show up anyway.

Good to know things are working now. Sounds like some file somewhere had become corrupted. Reinstalling created a new copy for you.

So, the runtime error is returned when you click File>Open, or after choosing a file in the Open dialog box and clicking the Open button?

What about skipping the Organizer altogether, just open the Editor and go to File>Open. What happens then?

What happens when you go to File>New>Blank File? Can you successfully create a new, blank file? If so, can you save it and then reopen it?

No,Windows starts looking to close it

Could you be more specific? Are you able to create the new file? Or are you not able to reopen it once you have created and saved the file, or something else?

Ah! This is a more complete error report than you originally posted!

We can see that the file that is the source of the problem is AXEDOMCore.dll.

Not sure what it means exactly, but it's a clue to put us on a path. I've never seen issues caused by this particular file before.

I'll look into this a bit more and get back to you.

So, you are not able to open or save documents? Do you see the dialog window for open or save, or does the crash occur when you select the menu command and before the dialog appears? That could be a whole other clue as to what is happening.

If you are not seeing the dialog box at all before the crash, try Solutions 6 though 9 from this document:
Open or Save As dialog box flickers then disappears | CS3 | Windows

Don't worry about this document talking about a different product or version. The steps we are concerned with apply to everything. For Solution 7, the instructions would be:
Windows XP: Rename the Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Prefs.psp file (for example, to Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Prefs.old) in the \Documents and Settings\[your user name]\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\10.0\Editor folder.
Windows Vista: Rename the Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Prefs.psp file (for example, to Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Prefs.old) in the \Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\10.0\Editor folder.

Working on some photos when I received a message from Windows Microsoft Visual c++Runtime Library saying: "this application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way."

I have no idea how to reinstall Photoshop 10 as it was a download - and when I attempt to open the saved file, it asks if I want to remove the program from my computer.

How about an explanation as to what to do that is not aimed at the computer-geek crowd, but the average person just trying to use this program? (Extremely frustrated when having to deal with Adobe and the occasional problem that pops-up every now and then).

I'm have windows 7 home premium edition.
In the search box (under all programs) wright Elements...find a folder "Adobe photoshop elements 10...open a sbfolder PS10...and Setup.exe.
You ́ll ned the long Key again.
Go to your Adobe account and in my downloads you'll find the key.
Good luck.

Same issue, Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit. Just installed the trial, edited a few photos, saved them, edited a few more, saved them, each time closing PSE 10. Came back after dinner, no joy. Throws this MS Visual C++ error. Tried running the exe directly, same issue. If you look closely, the actual module is AXEDOMCore.dll. I am no programmer, but I have been working on computers longer than most of you have been able to say your own name. Looks like someone at Adobe needs to recompile the DLL (After whatever call is corrected) and release a patch. I suspect until then, its just broke. Now, it COULD still be a MS Visual C++ issue, Lord knows that platform is less than stable, Im going to keep digging. Until then, sure hope someone at Adobe fixes this, I need to purchase, not going to until it works, Im sure you understamd.
