PhotoShop Elements connection issue - Easier to fix or to start over?
Hi, I am using Photoshop Elements 14. I have several files that are not connected anymore due to some directory reorganization. I have tried to used the reconnect function but in many cases it doesn't work. I am confident that that my photos are all saved in a single directory.
Would it be easier to delete all the connections in Photoshop Elements, and reimport the photos, rather than trying to fix the broken connections? If this is the case, how do I delete the connection information? Are there any potential issues if I proceed with deleting and reimporting? Thanks.

Get your photos where you want them before you add them to organizer, then don't move them.

The list of missing files is shown. You can use the menu of that dialog (small icon with horizontal bars) to - select all (or select some in the list) - Delete from catalog.
If you delete and reimport, you may at best recover the tags, captions and ratings if you had 'written metadata to to tags. Not albums, stacks, versions sets... That's why it's best to reconnect if possible.

The connection information is deleted together with the thumbnail when you delete the image in the organizer (do not click the option "Also delete selected item(s) from the hard disk"!) . You can then import the "deleted" images back into the organizer by either using the PSE import command Ctrl+Shift+G or simply, drag the image(s) from the explorer window into the PSE window.
