Photoshop Elements 11: Ability to group/stack Events

In PSE 11, the Events view has been introduced. I would like to have way of grouping or stacking events to reduce the number of events showing and perhaps to aid finding an event.

Hey,

You can select one/multiple stacks (shown in smart events view) and click on 'Name events' button on task bar to create a stack out of the stacks shown in smart events.
However by doing so, the number of stacks shown in smart events view will not change. Smart event view always displays the stacks for all media on catalog irrespective of the media is already a part of the stack(created by user) or not.

Hi,

I didn't explain my idea properly.

What I meant was that I would like to have a hierarchic structure for the events.

For instance I would like to have a group called "Cruises" which show on the page when you first select events. If I then double click on Cruises, I get the events for the various cruises that I have been on.

Without this type of grouping, the events screen becomes too crowded and therefore useless.

What you suggested does group all the images into one non-smart event but then you can't pick out one particular event.

The images showing in smart events can be limited by selecting a folder, it doesn't always use all media.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for explaining your idea. We don't have this functionality in PSE11.
We will consider this for future release.

Hi,

I have just seen the way that groups are handled in the People view - something similar to that would suit me I think.

I second that request. The Events tab is a great idea, but needs to be a bit more powerful/flexible. Here is an example, I had several Christmas "events" spread over December. Mixed in were other "events". If I could easily grab hold of one group of photos and drop it into an EXISTING event that would be great.
