Elements: Organizer 11 - can I only choose tags by typing in search bar, not clicking?

Just got Organizer 11 installed, I can see all my existing tags and want to search on multiple tags to find certain photos. In v10, I could just click on multiple tags (example, "Christmas" and "John") - now it seems the only way to select those tags is by typing in the search bar??? I really hope I'm missing something and we can still click on our tags also. Typing and then selecting from the list they suggest seems like adding steps, not making it easier...

Learning curve in progress! Okay - found out by accident, if you double-click on the far right of the keyword tag where it show the > symbol, it will select on that keyword. But you have to double-click right on that edge on the symbol. I guess I missed that when looking in the help files. Once a keyword tag is selected, it shows the keyword tag above the photos, but doesn't leave a check or any visual mark by the keyword tags on the right that are similar to organizer 10. But if you show the drop down keywords above the photos, it has boxes that you can check or can see if they are already checked. But that top drop-down list reduces the space you can see the photos so you probably want to hide it after you use it.

In E11, a new search functionality is added- Advanced Search. This is very powerful. Please explore it.
In your case, you are using it unknowingly (probably it is in collapsed form). Please see attached snapshot-

Yes - I have used this advanced search - it is very useful. However I don't like the way it takes up so much space at the top of the screen, even though I have a large monitor. It would be really great if we could drag it off to the side or onto a second monitor. Thanks for your reply.

The advanced search feature seems to have been removed from Elements Organizer 14

No, it's still the same interface.
By the way, I never use it. Either I use the text search box on top right or the 'Search by details, metadata'.

The 'advanced' option, the graphical selection tool has been removed; I suppose it was much criticized for taking too much display space.
The search by Media is the real advanced tool to compose elaborate queries.
What I find very useful is the text search box on the top right: in most cases it's by far the fastest way to find items by a single tag, part of a caption or a note.
