Elements: Album icons

PSE currently has a single icon for albums, a green rectangle with a white minus. I would highly appreciate to be able to categorize albums visually by a choice of icons. Same icon, different colors, or different icons all together, anything.

The same icon can change color, and you can change the caption under the icon as well.  Right click then select rename.  Any icon does that.  It's a Windows thing no Adobe.

Hi Steve, thanks for your speedy reply. I don't understand what you mean, however. When I right-click the album icon, there is an option to Rename, but that let me rename the album title only. I do not understand what you mean by the "caption under the icon".

Maybe I should have added that I am referring to the navigation window on the left side of the PSE Organizer.

I was talking aobut the desktop icons.  The Organizer should have been mentioned.  That's not my thing.  I never touch that part of PSE.  Find somebody else.

I had never heard of "album icons" - didn't know such things existed.  I know that real photos have albums and digital photos can exist on a desktop icon.  I am not a fan of the PSE catalog thing, so my way of saving photos in a gallery is to icon them to the desktop or just keep them in the pictures folder under their own folder, as a folder within a folder.  Everything being in alpha order, suits me fine.

PSE Catalog has had its problems but I don't use it enough to give advice.  My only advice for it is to use older PSE catalogs, those being more stable and not the newer versions, PSE catalog.  Also transferring photos to another version is always a common problem seen here although it can be done, but that's my other reason why I don't utilize a PSE catalog for saving or sorting.

My company archives for customers but the photos are loaded onto a gold plated, scratch armored, archival discs we sell them.  The company that made them has stopped producing them so we bought out their inventory, so we're the only company that has them.

Also, we produce lots of photos with 5 different cameras, loaded onto laptops, backed up to a server, and external drives, 3 of them.  We don't need to sort them because we sorted them into folders in the first place so as photographers we know where to find them long after.  We only do commercial photography so we have folders of web photos to be used for sites if needed, and we produce those ourselves.  I think our largest external drive is 5 terabytes yet we know where everything's kept.  NO icon is really needed.  Every file folder is clearly labeled.
