Elements 14: Face recognition fails often with two faces in one picture
I am rather disappointed with the face recognition in Elements 14 Organizer. Very often I want to name a face and in a picture are two or more faces but Elements is not giving me the option to name the other face(s). I have a lot of pictures - that is really annoying. And I miss the option to run a face recognition manually for a picture - as I doubt that Elements is doing it by itself...

You can double click that image to take it to single image view and then click "Mark Face" option on the bottom action bar.
Hope that helps!

Elements 13 has recognized multiple faces much more accurate than 14.

I mean Elements could also see: Oh, this picture has three name tags - there should be three faces, or? Or at least I analyse this picture again as it might be that there is more than one face recognizable...

Elements 14 has converted my catalogue from Elements 13. Working myself through the catalogue I come across hundreds of pictures that I tagged in Elements 13 but the faces are not properly recognized in 14.
One picture has two faces, the tags show two persons but if I go over the faces only one face is recognized and the other is not. I have to manually mark the other face.
I rather would like to say Elements do the face recognition for this picture again but I cannot.
(This problem might be a side effect of the other problem I reported that multiple faces within a picture are not properly recognized).

Can you please confirm if Face Analysis is complete in your catalog.
< Face Analysis progress is shown in the status bar in EO with text:
Analyzing faces in your catalog: x% complete >
Once the analysis is complete, you can see all the recognized faces under Unnamed tab of People View.
The faces which you feel are not properly recognized by FR, can you please re-verify it by double clicking the image and hovering mouse over the face you are talking about and see if round mark appears over that face.
If not, is that face a full face or a side face. Were these faces properly identified in E13?
You can go through the article:https://helpx.adobe.com/elements-orga...
It will help you with the new face recognition workflow in People Room.
Thanks,
Anwesha

The last time (yesterday) I saw the face recognition progress report it said: 94% complete. How can I trigger it to get complete?
I go to a picture with three faces. One of them is marked automatically and two are unmarked. I have this picture open for about four minutes and while hovering over the unmarked faces, Elements seems to compute as the task manager shows a lot of CPU usage by Elements but faces are left unrecognized.
Pictures with only one face do not seem to be problematic.
And yes, I clearly have pictures that I marked in Elements 13 or were automatically marked by Elements 13 and that are not marked in Elements 14 (after the catalogue was converted). Again often a problem when two or more faces are in a picture.
(should I open another ticket for this?) And additionally, the unnamed stacking does not work properly. I do have faces that are clearly the same because they are in a row of similar pictures and they are not stacked together. It looks like Elements is not refreshing/reanalysing the unnamed stacks (properly).
I do leave Elements open through the day and I thought it might work automatically on the analysis as the AutoAnalyser of 13 has done - but it does not seem to be so...

Now I go to one of the pictures that are clearly marked by Elements 13 because it has two name tags. If I hover over the faces, I only get one face marked. The other face is not recognized.

I created a new catalogue with the same pictures as the old one.
Elements 14 recognizes much more faces in the same picture when newly imported into a fresh catalogue than in converted catalogue.
But if I would switch to the new catalogue I would miss all my current tag system.
I hope that Adobe is working on an update for this 13 to 14 conversion problem...
