The Lightroom for iPad app is absolute awful.

The Lightroom for iPad app is absolutely awful. There are free apps on the internet that do basically the same thing. You really need to create an iPad version of Lightroom that is exactly the same as the desktop version. I’d also like to see better connectivity so you can import direct from your camera to your iPad via WiFi. I’ve been trying and failing to give this feedback for months.
This is my big problem with you guys, you make a product for photographers or students or whoever, right. Then you get feedback from the people who use your product that it doesn’t do what they want it to do. Instead of taking that onboard and passing it onto your software development people, or your marketing people or whoever is responsible for making decisions about developments/changes, you just repeat unhelpful information at people
Photographers who travel for work (or anyone who just wants to take photos while travelling) want to be able to use the full version of lightroom on a smaller device like an ipad or tablet. It’s easier to edit on. The customer service are also a joke. I asked multiple times for feedback to be passed on and for a complaint email and was just sent back to this which seems to be people who don’t work for Adobe helping other people fix problems with your stupid products.

Awful is a little overstated, but truth is LR is not suited for pro or enthusiast photographic work. There is alsmost no solution for a streamlined integration of mobile and desktop.

There are also lots of bugs, arbitrary restrictions and behaviors “by design” aka “you’re using it wrong”.

But worse of all, Adobe does not take feedbacks seriously. As long as the cash (from phone users) is flowing, there neglecting their core business: photographers.

Direct import from the camera is something that no doubt will come when iPad iOS is released. So far this has not been possible due to limitations of iOS, not of Lightroom.

Unless you work for Adobe and are passing my feedback my onto their software engineers, you're not 'helping'. And trying to tell me how my iPad works or telling me that based on 'my rant' I don't appear to understand things is patronising. Patronising people is insulting. I'm so over trying to deal with this crap product, not being able to give feedback and now having to deal with this rubbish.

Posting in this forum is a direct conduit to support, engineering and product management.  In spite of multiple demands in this thread for an email address, I assure you that any address anyone would provide would have fractional impact when compared with proper well-reasoned posts in this forum. 

Here, we track legitimate specific complaints, cross-referencing them with our Feature Requests and Bug Reports to provide real-time feedback directly to the products' engineering teams. When necessary we conference in managers for the various product teams. 

Those who participated in this thread thus far are not Adobe staff but rather volunteers and those who share a passion for photography, workflow, tools and sharing information to make all users lives easier. Proper conduct is enumerated in the Terms link at the bottom of this page. 

Now, to the point of your thread: I am happy to carry specific concerns regarding lacks and wants in the iPad version of Lightroom mobile directly to the development team. I would also encourage you to add your personal story to various existing posts on this forum which may already be voicing specific concerns which echo your own. We value quality feedback about our products and are always looking to make them better.

Finally, someone who works for Adobe. Hurrah, you do exist.


My concerns to go to the software team are:

- The iPad app needs to mirror exactly what is on the desktop program.

- there needs to be better importing/accessibility for photos into lightroom on an iPad

- you should be able to buy this software like the desktop version and not have to pay astronomical subscription fees.


My general feedback is:

You need to vastly improve your customer support. As a customer I want to be able to talk to Adobe staff about my complaints. I do not want to have to go on a forum and have a bunch of people whine at me because I'm not happy about this process. Its lazy of Adobe to push customer support back onto your customers. Some people like forums, great for them, they can create one or find one online and swap ideas to their hearts content. But I really have not appreciated this experience of a bunch of photography enthusiasts butting in and lecturing me under a guise of 'being helpful' and being patronised and insulted (although this is the very behavior they've all complained of) despite my numerous messages that I'm not here for a chat, I'm only here to get a message to Adobe.


Now how do I stop notifications on this thread?
