Lightroom Mobile: Photomerge (Pano/HDR) with imported images

Now that LRM has the ability to do HDR photos with the built in camera, it would be nice to also be able to produce HDR images with imported photos.  It should be fairly easy to implement since the coding is already done for the camera.

Is this even under consideration? It has been suggested a year ago and there was no official response yet. Excepted for the lack of stacks, I don’t see any technical limitation.

I read that Photoshop for iOS was coming in 2019. IPad Pro will have best functionality with the Apple Pencil. Won’t have everything to begin with, but it should simplify the workflow.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled NO HDR NO TETHERD SHOOT for iPad. Do u sell to Photographers or not ?.

I Use a 2019 IPad Pro with Premium Lightroom CC on it. I neeeeed to Make HDR‘s out of the RAW‘s from Camera! Pay so much money and all the software is useless for my work :( Why cant you get the most out of the devices? I am shooting flats and buildings and my work is 90% done with High Quality HDR Pictures. And still need to work on my Mac just because this Function is missing. Also Tethered Shooting isn‘t available, antother Thing every photographer who’s using the Creative Cloud needs.

They will, eventually, implement this feature because they do have the technical knowledge to do it. The code is maybe already written somewhere.
But I do believe they have a specific roadmap to follow in order to spray out the new features in order to justify LR’s price.

As a premium subscriber that work on the field we need this feature, come on Adobe, this already 2 years. You guys have to roll this feature out.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled HDR merge for lightroom CC mobile app.

I bracket most of my photos so it would be really useful to be able to merge them while on the move. I know you have this feature on your your desktop version but it would be very useful on the app also. Thanks

This feature and a batch rename feature are the only reason I still haven’t ditched Lightroom classic CC.

Considering the importance of this as well as how old this request is, I just hope that Adobe has been working on this, surprising everyone with a release together with the new iOS 13!

I’ve heard that capture one is currently working on a mobile platform to be ready when iOS13 is out, so if these are not in the works yet, I am afraid that it may already be too late. Anyway, it’s not like this was requested last month, right?!?

I wonder if there are performance limitations to be considered. I, too, would love to have this, even if it were a bit slow.

I really don’t think so! Modern tablets and phones are blazingly fast compared to computers. HDR and merging softwares were available at a time computers were way slower than actual mobile devices ;-)

Totally agree! The latest iPad Pro is blazing fast and actually faster than most computers out there.

We already know there is enough processing power.  HDR merging is already built into LR mobile, it only works with photos taken with the LR mobile camera though.  If the algorithms already exist, why not use them for imported photos as well?

This could make sense as they are maybe not the same algorithm: the one that needs to be implemented must be the one from camera raw. That’s maybe the biggest reason why it’s not implemented yet, the need to translate CR algorithms on mobile devices.

The HDR feature available at the time has to work only with the integrated camera, not with huge DSLR files. (And already takes some time, despite the flow” resolution images it has to process)

All of this works fine with an app like Affinity Photo so why wouldn't/couldn't it work with Lightroom? It's clearly not a question of performance.

Lightroom mobile desperately needs a panoramic feature. Please help take our images to the next level.

 Hello,
I have been using Lightroom for a long time and being able to work on my iPad is really exceptional.
There are 2 terribly useful features missing and it would be really amazing if you could include them in Ligtromme Mobile.

- The HDR and Panorama merger. I've been waiting for this feature for a long time and it would be really amazing if you could add this feature.

- Add a range mask for graduated filters. This feature is so useful and it would really be a plus if you could add them.

Thank you for your work. A little effort, you're not far from making Lightroom Mobile perfect! ;)

There is no feature for merging raw HDR photos in Lightroom mobile. That’s one feature which I miss dearly since I only use my iPad Pro for photo editing now and I can’t use my HDRs at all. Very frustrating.

5.0.0 was released for iPad. Unfortunately, no photomerge and no real notable feature yet again (other than batch editing). This iOS version is turning into a real disappointment.

While no photo merge is a disappointment, I am very glad to have proper export features with this new release.

Well, maybe on iPadOS but not on iOS. I still have the two old options: Small 2048 px and maximum available.

The export options made it to the desktop and Android but didn't quite make the cut for iOS for this release, but they've confirmed it is coming to iOS soon Bruno.
