Lightroom Mobile photo import problems

I am no longer able to import photos to LR Mobile using the ‘From Camera Device’ option using iPad Pro. This import option remains greyed out out when card is connected. I believe this behaviour started with last software update.
I am using an (old) IPad Pro with IOS 13.6 and LR ver 5.3.1
I connect the SD card to the iPad with apple Camera Kit.The card is recognised by the iPad ie can be seen in Files and by Apple Photo app.
(The import ‘from camera device’ option works as expected when importing images via iPhone.)
This images/card can be seen on iPad by LR, but if I try and import using the ‘import from files’ option, not all selected images are imported.
Any advice greatly appreciated.Many thanks
Peter.

Update for anyone interested or with similar problem..... A reset of the iPad seems to have resolved these issues.

@peter_cappelletti when you say reset what exactly do you mean? Did you restart the iPad, reset all settings, or erase the device?

I did a complete reset, ie ‘erase all content and settings’. Restart, re-install etc had not resolved the issue.

Damnit, really don’t want to do that. Did you restore from a backup?

I understand.... I didn’t want to do it either but this was suggested by Adobe support as the only option. They were confident the problem was in the iPad and not the app.

Can you try connecting the camera directly to the iPad and bypass the connector kit and reader?

I can’t try that Rikk...... I don’t have a required cable or adaptor and I am not able to get either at the moment.
LR is able to see the images on the card ie when I attempt the import ‘from files’ option, it shows all available images, but will not import all selected. Eg I attempted to import 7 selected images and only 2 successfully imported. The other images where Eventually imported after more attempts.

I am also having the same issue. Lightroom on my iPad Pro will not recognize either my camera directly connected or the Apple USB-C SD card reader. Both are recognized using the Photos app. I am using a Fuji X-Pro 3. I have tried restarting the iPad, removing the app and re-downloading it, and resetting all settings and none of those have resolved it.

It sounds like you may need to set the iOS 14 permissions for this device.

That did it. For some reason it had never prompted for file access after updating to iOS 14. Had to toggle on file access under Privacy > Files & Folders.

What’s really strange is that resetting all settings *should* have prompted the app to re-ask for file access permission.
