Lightroom mobile: Memory/Cache is a nightmare without wifi

Lightroom mobile wastes tons of space without wifi. I was recently on a trip testing an iPad Pro as a mobile workfloe device when I discovered that if you don't have a solid wifi connection, all photos imported into Lightroom mobile take up their full amount of space there, on top of the camera roll. So 8gb of photos essentially take up 16gb of space on the iPad until you reach wifi. This is awful with the expensive storage space on an iPad. Very limiting. This combined with the lack of LAN connection for sync makes it almost useless. If adobe can cut the necessity of the internet with the mobile app it would open up a whole new world of efficiency for mobile users.

It may help to know you can remove the photos from the camera roll once they're in the LR Mobile app, even before they're uploaded.

The big issue with going that route is I like to leave the originals on the card until Im home (for an extra backup). So each day when I plug in the SD card at the end of the day, I would have to go in and unselect all of the previous images (which with apple means one by one or all at once) or reinstall all of them. By the end of my trips the cards are full. I may be making excuses for my personal process, but if they just killed the need for wifi seems a lot of people issues would be solved.

Yeah, I agree that's a pain if your SD cards are bigger than the space on the iPad.  I usually find I can leave them in the Photos app until I switch to another SD card, then clear the photos app and start importing from the next card, and repeat with each new card.
