Lightroom Mobile: Canon CR3 Raw not appearing in Add screen

Canon CR3 Raw files do not display in the screen where photos are selected whereas the older CR2 files are displayed in the selection screen.
For CR3 files one must import them before one can inspect them.This wastes time.

For the next Lightroom Mobile update, please add the display of CR3 raw files to the selection screen.

Are you talking about the Add Photos Screen? A screenshot showing the issue would help if you could post one.

 Yes, I’m sure it’s the Add Photo Screen. A screen shot from importing CR3 files are attached.  I’m using Lightroom Mobile v.5.2.0 81E51D.
With the older CR2 files the thumbnails show the images. With the CR3 files the “thumbnails” are as shown in the screen capture.

This isn’t a deal breaker but I hope the development team can fix this. 
Otherwise, I really love this application. I don’t use the old computer much anymore for photo editing — mainly just Lightroom Mobile.

I’m using iPad Pro 10.5”with latest iPadOS update installed.

I don't have access to a CR3, but does the Photos app import show the thumbnails?

The attached screen capture is what one sees when the SD card reader is plugged into the iPad with CR3 files from my Canon 90D on the card. With CR2 files from Canon 5D Mark IV the thumbnails show the actual images.

When one taps Import (as in lower right of the screen capture), Lightroom then imports the CR3 files and shows the thumbnails of those files. One can then edit the CR3 raw files.

Like I said, not a deal breaker but it would be nice to see the thumbnail images before importing.

Was there meant to be a screenshot attached Donald? I see the one of Lightroom's direct import, but I'm wondering whether Apple's own Photos app can see the thumbnails.

First screen capture (sc) is Lightroom (LR) screen when the card is plugged into my iPad Pro. This is a sc of the LR selection screen. No image thumbnails.


This is the sc after I select the files to import. Again no image thumbnails.





This is the sc of first screen when importing CR3 files into the iPad photo app.



So, is this really a problem with Apple iPad OS? Appears so?

Looks that way to me, although I'm sure the engineers will fix it if they can.

EOS RP CR3 file can't be shown previewed when direct import in Lightroom Mobile (iPad), it only show CR3 text and black background. This is a problem and difficulty when choosing which photo to import.
