Lightroom mobile (Android): Auto import not importing all photos
I've noticed that the auto import is not importing all photos. The missing pics are in the same folder so that shouldn't be the issue. This is obviously serious as it could result in data loss. Photos are not backed up to the cloud as expected. What else should I check before declaring a bug?

I am trying to get a better feel for what is going on. In the title of your post you say you are on Android. Is the Lightroom mobile App for Android the only device involved?
Can you walk me through, step-by-step exactly what you are doing so I can attempt to replicate?

I've just taken a number of test photos. In the first batch all 3 were imported OK. In the second batch the first was imported but not the rest. I've relaunched Lightroom mobile and it's done it's scan but no new pics. I've checked in a file manager tool and the pics which aren't imported are definitely in the same folder with a later date/time. Worryingly I've taken more pics and they aren't importing now.
Sadly this means there is an intermittent issue and I don't fully understand the sequence of events needed to reproduce the problem. That's my focus as the developers will need that to investigate.
Perhaps you could try...
Take a pic.
Open lightroom and let the auto import start.
Take another pic.
Open lightroom and let the auto import start.
See if both were imported.
Theories...
Pics taken while the import is running don't import. (Collects a batch of pics then sets the last checked timestamp to now but in between new pics were taken that are before this timestamp.)
Pics taken within a minute (or other time period) of the import are missed. (The last checked timestamp is saved without enough accuracy.)
The import is failing but setting the last checked time stamp so they are not re-scanned and imported. Perhaps something is locked.
Something else we don't yet understand is going on.
Is there a debug option to get some quality trace for the devs?

Using a Galaxy Note 8 here and snapping as fast as the camera will work.
Using Android Camera App.
Took a group of 4, a group of 6, and a group of 9.
In Gallery I have a group of 4, 6, and 9.
In Lightroom I have a group of 4, 6, and 9.
Are you using any special modes in your capture?

I'm using a Pixel XL.
I've just taken a pic with the Android camera app - imported no issue.
Then several pics with "Camera FV-5" - none have been imported.
Then another pic with the Android camera app - imported no issue.
The pics taken with "Camera FV-5" have still not been imported.
I've just enabled the RAW capture mode and taken another picture.
In the folder there is a JPG and DNG file.
In Lightroom only the DNG has been imported.
So the problem right now seems to be with JPG only pics taken with "Camera FV-5".
