Lightroom for mobile: Data usage bug

Hi all,

I have an issue regarding data storage on iOS.

1) I have (had) about 30 000 smart previews synced from classic to mobile, almost no pictures stored locally on mobile

2) I have no folder checked as "store locally" and have purged the cache in the preferences

3) Dispite having done this, rebooted the app, the iPad, ... LR still uses over 20 Go of memory

( 4) I was assuming this sotrage would be "free to delete" but I tried to download a big album and I had the message I had not enough space left, so this hypothesis seems untrue)

5) I was also thinking it might be all the thumbnails and the catalog. I very seriously doubt this could be over 20 Go but it was worth trying. I have unsyced my entire library, which is a HUGE pain as unchecking the "sync" symbol does not unsync them, you have to remove them in "all synced picture". This is also a HUGE FLAW (oh now, I'm using it wrong! my bad!).
After having removed all the pictures from "All synced picture", it took 24h to sync to the iPad and iPhone!! but hey... cloud is the future, no?

7) I have now only 10 pictures left (raws imported on my iPad, not smart previews synced down from LR)

8) Despite this, I STILL have over 20Go of data usage on LR, this is confirmed the iPad settings.

So,
1) Is this a bug ?
2) How do I solve this (without killing my library?)

Antoine,

Have you checked your deleted items in the Creative Cloud Assets? You may need to clean this out. Go to: https://assets.adobe.com/deleted and verify that your previously deleted items aren't consuming space.

Too bad I don’t have the transcription of chat support of yesterday, because it was simply scandalous! The guy didn’t even took the time to understand and to read this thread. The suggestions were either useless or even insulting! Like he was following a flowchart for no specific issue! It made no sense at all.

Today I was called by « experts », whom I assume has the same level of expertise a the chat support. Not much better. Also didn’t take the time to understand the issue. Like this bug does not exist. They also didn’t read the case before, so had to explain everything again.

I’m not native speaking, but I also find it scandalous having troubles to even understand them. I understand their support center is based in India to cut the cost, but I really couldn’t understand them :-(

Adobe, it’s really really sad!

Antoine,

I have now pulled a third iPad into the mix on my end and I am still not able to duplicate what you are seeing on your end.

I suspect something in your mobile catalog or the app installation on your device has an issue. So far, I've been unable to find any additional reports of this behavior by other customers. I would love to be able to reproduce this and give you some additional assistance.

I will be posting this in our Engineering channel for one of the iOS team to offer advice.

Thanks you for your patience.

Do you still see this issue with Lightroom Mobile 4.4 which was released yesterday?
