Lightroom CC for mobile: White desktop background on mobile

Apologies if this has already been discussed!Very simply I take product images for which the backgrounds must be white. On the desktop version, I can change the overall Lightroom app background to white which enables me to see whether I’m 100% white. It’s great. Sadly, it’s literally the only think stopping me from using my iPad for editing as either the feature doesn’t exist or I can’t find it. Seems a simple change to make? Surely I’m not alone!

What tool are you using in Lightroom Desktop to create (and visualize) the white background that is missing in the mobile app?

Sorry for late reply. I right click on the black desktop around the photo and there’s an option to make the black area white. It’s a game changer for me.

Hi,

Not sure if this ever got looked at.  I''ve attached a screenshot from Windows to show what I mean.

This very small (?) feature addition would make the mobile version instantly usable for me (and I would guess others doing eCommerce photos).

There could easily be an option for this in view options on iOS here:

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Lightroom CC for mobile: Allow the interface to be set to white.

This is such a simple yet vital feature for photo editing. I request that the mobile and tablet versions of Lightroom cc be given an update that will allow users to place a white background behind the photos. Desktop versions have this tool and it may be the only feature stopping me from fully editing on my iPad. Please patch this issue. Most social media sites have white backgrounds so it is important to edit photos with a white background behind it.

I completely agree. This is a different use case but, for example, Amazon demand completely white backgrounds on product images. With a decent light box you can get away without clipping etc and use Lightroom to increase white levels etc. This is only possible by eye though if comparing against a white background. Surely not that big a request? I also could use my iPad full time with this one small change.
