Clear cache deletes imports
Just noticed something strange while clearing the cache today:
When clearing the cache, LR also removes the images which has been imported and already uploaded to the cloud*. To my knowledge, this is a new behavior (or bug?). Can anyone confirm this?
Furthermore and according to me, this does not fit the “cache” definition a AT ALL: cached memory is discardable. Imported images ARE NOT!
A workaround is to toggle the “store locally” function.
Don’t get me wrong: I’m fine with the idea of having the possibility to remove imported images and being able to download them on demand, but MAKE IT CLEAR (terminology) and please INFORM users when a behavior such important as storage is changed! If
*steps to reproduce:
1) Import (raws) to LR Mobile
2) wait a while until some images are uploaded
3) clear cache
4) the images are gone, you need to load the again or tick “store locally”

Nevertheless, this is not what cache memory means. Cache is, imo, data downloaded or generated in order to work with temporarily; NOT original or imported data.
Again, I’m not against this behavior, but then use te correct terminology.

But that's the point. Once the original is safely in the cloud, the local copy is just available to work with temporarily. If you need to retain it locally, that's what store locally is for.

1) Importing raw images (not shown)
2) Sync to the cloud (not shown)
3) Scrolling through images display "D'Origine" = Original
4) Check if everything is well synced
5) Disable Wifi to prevent loading images
6) Clear cache, which should remove synced images. "Store locally" is NOT enabled on this album
7) Open images and they display "D'Origine" = Original raws
CLEAR CACHE DOES NOT DELETE IMPORTED RAWS
