Syncing changes in the New Lightroom CC

Syncing changes across images - This is one of the most important features of Lightroom.  Until this is implemented, it would be difficult to use this for a lot of professionals. Also, autosync has been a great tool for us to post crop photos.  In an ideal world, we could continue using the Lightroom classic version of this or adapt Lightroom Classic to allow for making these kinds of changes.

Another great idea!

Lightroom Classic will continue to be the better choice for a high volume, professional workflow. Give the new update for Lightroom Classic CC (not Lightroom CC) a try and you'll find all the cool features you know and love and more!

So the new Lightroom CC does not have Auto Sync? How can I make changes across multiple photos now? I can't seem to Select All to Copy and Paste Settings, so at the moment the new version is pointless for me!

Yes, it's one at a time right now. You're probably better suited to Classic right now Dave.

So can I use Classic across different PCs?

Sort of. https://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-to-lightroom-catalog-multiple-computers/

You might prefer Lightroom Classic on your main PC with all the features, and LRCC on another computer with fewer features, for easy sharing.

My problem is I don't have a very powerful PC and laptop, not good specifications, but I 'manage' somehow. I was hoping the new version would allow me to use less memory, etc, so I would import to a catalog on my main PC, then work on the photos in the 'lighter' version on my laptop. I do a lot of sports photography, but can't afford a new more powerful laptop just yet.

Can you see my problem?

Yeah, lighter version on your laptop, synced back to Classic on your desktop, would work fine - but just with the limitations of no syncing settings on the lighter version at the moment. I'm sorting out some blog posts along these lines, so keep an eye on the blog. It'll probably be a couple of week's time, when I actually time to think again!

Syncing settings is recorded as a feature request here, and I'd imagine it'll be a fairly popular one, so hopefully it won't take too long to be added.

Thanks for this. I will experiment for now, and look forward to possible 'additions' soon! Thanks for your help Victoria!

I thought the new Lightroom CC would sync changes you make to photos on other platforms to the mobile app and vice versa. I changed a photo in the iOS app, but the change did not appear on the desktop app.

If you are signed in to the Creative Cloud and you have an internet connection it should work.
