Lightroom: Import from Photos showing JPG instead of raw

When displaying all the images from Photos to import, the review for import is showing them as jpg types. In fact they are raw types.Will they be imported as jpg or raw?Which iswhat I want. Raw.On my iPad the import dialogue shows, and imports them correctly, as raw types.Am I setting something wrong?

You mention they are correct on your iPad but you don't mention what the device is where they are incorrect. Which device is not showing them correctly.  What is the installed version of Lightroom Mobile on that device?

Sorr,y, I wasn’t really clear. Lightroom CC (latest update) on the Mac desktop is not showing the images in Review For Import as RAW files, but as JGP files. It’s looking at them from Photo’s camera roll.

Ok, Thanks!  We do know about that issue and should have it fixed in the next Lightroom Desktop release.

Question:  If I imported my images from my directly from my camera to LR Mobile on my iPad, and they imported as .jpeg's, were the original RAW files stored in the Cloud?  Have I lost the images if my SD card has been reformatted before I discovered this?  I'm trying to access the original files.  Have they been stored in the Cloud and where could I find them?

@Jean

I am uncertain as to whether you will have your raw files or not.

You can go to http://lightroom.adobe.com and log in with your Adobe ID to verify which files were synced to the cloud. If you are unable to locate the raw files on your device or the cloud, you may want to look at data recovery software for your SD card before shooting a lot of images on it again.

Hello, I'm having this exact same issue - I try to import RAW files from the Photos app on my iMac, and they show up as JPGs on the import screen in Lightroom (also on my iMac). Has this problem just never been fixed...? I'm unable to edit any of my older RAW photos at the moment. Thanks!

Export them from Photos as 'unmodified original'.

Do you use 'Import' or 'Migrate from'? You must use 'Migrate from', or first export the photos as 'Unmodified Original' from Apple Photos. Check the option to save IPTC as XMP if you added keywords that you want to migrate too.

I have the same issue. I use latest Lightroom iPad V6.1.

I have no problem in iPhone 12 Lightroom v6.1.

Only in iPad there’s always import from raw change into jpeg in Lightroom. Please help and thanks
