Lightroom: Export Filename: Remove suffix, keep prefix

I want to keep a file's original prefix when renaming during an export.

Export > File Naming > Edit -- I only see the option to select a file's suffix.

Example - Original Filenames:
8610_1000
8741_6900

When I do the export and save to a new folder, I want the files to be renamed as:
8610
8741

Is that possible?

I don't think so. For Lightroom, your file name is simply a name with nine characters. So what you would need to do is say 'use the first four characters only' and that does not exist in the renaming options.

If you have Bridge, you could do it with a regular expression \_.*$ and the batch rename command:

In LR, there is no possibility to extract a prefix out of the original file name that have bee generated by th camera.
