Lightroom Desktop: Unusable after April 2020 update
After updating Lightroom CC Desktop to version 3.2.1 from version 3.2 it has completed screwed it up. Everything is now way to slow to respond it makes the application more or less unuseable. I'm running a fairly high spec new machine so it shouldn't be a lack of processing power causing the issues. I have had to roll back to the previous version but even that now is not as it was. Before the update it had worked seemlessly for many months...

The problems are all hallmarks of trying to the run the program on a machine not powerful enough for it, but as I said previously it's only a few months old and was working flawlessly before the update so I can't see how that's the problem? I don't if maybe a recent windows update has also affected it? (I'm not IT savvy enough to know how all that works).
Brian, Creative Cloud Desktop is telling me I have version 3.2.1? See the screenshot.
Thanks for your help.

1. Does the behavior show the same lag when you disable the GPU in preferences?
2. Does resetting the preference file help?
- Close Lightroom.
- Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.
- Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.
- Close Lightroom.
- Restart Lightroom.
Note: A Preference File will survive a Lightroom uninstall/reinstall. Sometimes weird behavior is corrected/cured by resetting the preferences.Quality Engineering - Customer Advocacy

I have a slightly older system (AMD 6350 6-core CPU, RAdeon R9 270 Graphics, 32Gb RAM, Windows 10), but it was working adequately until the 'unhancement'. Sometimes a later hotfix stabilises things, but no joy this time.

If resetting the preference file did not affect the issue. The next step is to perform a clean reinstall.

Disabling use of the graphics card was also key.
Thanks for all the help/suggestions.
