Lightroom Desktop: Tabbed Navigation Sucks

When using SHIFT-TAB to navigate between fields in Lightroom the Edit panel will spontaneously close, rather than simply taking me to the previous field. This was never an issue in Lightroom Classic.

This is a good place to start:

Reset Procedure:

1. Close Lightroom.

2. Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.

3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.

4. Close Lightroom.

5. Restart Lightroom.

  1. Followed these instructions.
  2. Restarted Lightroom in Step 5
  3. Opened EDIT panel
  4. Clicked into the Exposure's editable field
  5. Pressed TAB a few times and was navigated to subsequent fields (Contract, Highlights, then Shadows)
  6. Pressed SHIFT-TAB to navigate backwards to former fields - but INSTEAD of moving backwards, the EDIT panel closed.

In short, nothing has changed and this didn't solve my problem:

When using SHIFT-TAB to navigate between fields in Lightroom the Edit panel will spontaneously close, rather than simply taking me to the previous field.

As noted: this was never an issue in Lightroom Classic.
