Lightroom Desktop: Sync Issues due to stacks

Hi, Any ideas how to fix a sync issue that I believe is due to stacks?

I migrated a LR classic catalog to LR CC on my PC, and it's stuck syncing 143 photos. LR mobile and https://lightroom.adobe.com show no sync issues. If click on the cloud in LR CC desktop, then the view link to see which photos are syncing, the result is empty. Using the Diagnostic report I can see issues with stacks that I guess were in my original catalog. I don't want to start again and re-migrate due to the number of images.

I've tried marking all images with a star, and grouping/stacking all images to see if that forces the sync to correct itself. This hasn't fixed the issue.

If I search for the file names above in LR CC desktop I get no result.
Many thanks
Steve

Can you go to Preferences:
Account

Hold down the [Option] key and generate a [Mini Report]. I will get this to an engineer.

Hi Rikk, thank you for the message. I was going to update the post as yesterday afternoon I found a solution that appears to have worked. I renamed the catalog which forced a new catalog to download which has stopped the sync issues. I was confident to do this as I believe the stacks were causing the problem and I haven't lost any images by doing this.

Hi Steve. Im having some issues that seem to be the same. Your response to RIKK confused me a bit and I'm hoping for some clarification.

I have two issues. One photo in CC won't sync, though when I click view there is nothing there. The other issue is I think the same stack issue. Im importing my old photos from classic into CC. When it hits TIFFS that are in stacks I get sync errors in classic. The only fix I found is to move a copy to my desktop, delete all other copies, then reimport them one by one into CC. This is a huge pain in the butt. So it seems like you just renamed the catalog in Classic correct? You lost me when you said it forced a new catalog to download. How did this help any issues with stacks? Now one other thing-the sync errors in classic that I'm having aren't coming up in CC. Just Classic. CC says just one photo is stuck. Classic says 14 are stuck, yet none of them are the same as the one in CC. I deleted the one showing up the the CC error, and reimported and it did not help.

Hi Elizabeth,

It sounds like you have something similar to the issue I experienced. I had so many stacks it would have been very painful to fix it one by one, and I didn't want to re-import/migrate the catalog.

My fix was the renaming of the CC catalog, not the classic one. Have you followed the instructions in this link that I posted above?https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/lightroom-cc/kb/unable-to-move-some-photos.html

That shows where the CC catalog is stored on your computer and explains about renaming it to force a new one to download from the cloud.

Why are you still looking at Classic and getting sync issues there? Once you migrate to CC, I don't believe you use Classic anymore.

It might be worth waiting for a few others to comment to see if they have experienced exactly the same issue as you. I don't want to give you bad advice.

Having the same issues. Yesterday it appeared while mass editing a lot of photos with panoramas/stacks. Was able to find the culprit image by reading diagnostic log and delete+reimport fixed it. Now it happened again but I can't find the images the log points to, seems I have deleted them but Lightroom is still trying to sync them even they don't exist.

If you do rename the catalog does it have to download all of the photos from cloud again? I'm storing all 200 gb of original photos on my hard drive as well and wouldn't like to do this if I have to download them again. Also seems it's happening every other day if working with stacks.. Really needs to be fixed...
