Lightroom Desktop: Says I'm offline

Lightroom says I'm offline, I tried restarting, turning on and off my firewall. I can't get into the preferences for lightroom either.. Not sure what to do here.

Let's try this first:

Reset Procedure:

1. Close Lightroom.
2. Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.
3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.
4. Close Lightroom.
5. Restart Lightroom.

Can you get to Preferences now? Can you get online?

I just installed Lightroom on my PC. When I open it, it says I am offline (I am definitely online and the connection is good), and will not let me import any photos. I have closed it, opened it, restarted the computer, done the Alt/Shift trick as above and no joy. Very frustrating. What can I do?

For those of you who are experiencing the Lightroom is Offline issue, we have a test build we would like to share with you. This involves temporarily joining our prerelease program and testing under NDA. If you are able and willing to do this, reply in this forum and I will contact you with details.

To those of you who joined this conversation late, your posts were too late to make it possible for you to test this build before release.  Thank you for your willingness to participate in our analysis.
