Lightroom Desktop: Problems after putting to sleep

first, the technical details -

  • MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016) / 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7 / 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3 / Radeon Pro 460 4 GB

Intel HD Graphics 530 1536 MB

  • OS 10.14.6
  • Lightroom 3.4

now to the issues:

regularly while editing, and if I close the lid to my MacBook Pro while the app is still open, the app stops functioning. I can click other images but they dont show up in the main editing/preview pain. im also not able to make any edits. another thing I notice is when I try to create a new version during this time the thumbnail for the image to create the version for is of another image completely. then when hover over the incorrect thumbnail it causes the main preview/edit image to flip 180 to be come upside down.

what typically fixes this is closing Lr and reopening. but time doing this multiple times a day since ill edit, close my laptop, come back to edit, and have to close the program and open again.

one last thing I had happen yesterday was all of this happening but when I closed and opened again I lost most of the work I did. so all the edits I did didn't take. just something to note.

We are aware of this issue and are working on a fix. See this page:

We will update this thread when we have more info.

It's been a problem for a while. Everytime you put your Mac to sleep/ close the lid & re-login, the Lightroom page freezes & you'll have to relaunch the problem by force quitting it. It also says 'offline' when I'm connected to wifi. Anyone else having this problem?

Please install Lightroom Desktop 4.0, released earlier today. It should have some fixes for this type of issue.
