Lightroom Desktop: Creating Duplicates Upon Saving

Hoping this makes sense!

Almost every time I export/save photos from CC, the program will begin the process, then stop halfway through and restart... which then duplicates the file.

For example, I tried exporting an album of 80 high res images yesterday afternoon, which I walked away from...and four hours later, came back to the program STILL exporting, and I had SEVEN copies of about 3/4ths of the images from the album.

If its user error, for the love of goodness, please correct me.
If its a problem with CC, how would I go about fixing it? I've switched computers, uninstalled and reinstalled and restarted my computer.... nothing seems to fix it!

Please help! Exporting weddings is a frikin NIGHTMARE.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled download to desktop from cloud creates duplicates after internet interruption.

as I said: download al large number of Pics (<100) to desktop from cloud starts again and again after an Internet interruption and creates duplicates. My Workflow: downloading Images from Camera to iPad Pro at location and edit on desktop at office, then download final Images to Folder on Desktop. So I have to split my download into smaller parts and that's annoying!!!

I have had the same issue for months with Lightroom cc.  It takes forever to save files, then more hours are wasted deleting duplicate files.

Hi @Rikk Flohr, can you give us any updates on this issue? Can you reproduce the problem? Is anybody working on this? A short status update would be highly appreciated.

When an update is available it will be posted in this thread. Additionally the status (currently In-progress) may change too.

I have no new information to share at this time. The team continues to actively investigate the issue.

Hi Rikk, do we have an update yet? This is very inconvenient.

How is it possible that this problem has not been resolved? It's such a big problem to not be able to export photos that we have edited with this software... it's a basic functionality. I'm unable to export at the moment, and the "trick" I was using before no longer works (ie, I was able to export if I had the Wifi turned off).

I am only trying to export 36 photos and it won't complete, and it just keeps restarting. It creates 13-14 duplicates for the first 15 photos then stops.

I am no longer able to use this software for my wedding photography editing, since it is impossible to export a client's entire gallery.

Are there any workarounds?

Still a problem in windows 10, Lightroom CC 1.5.

Trying to export 108 photos, takes several hours to export 20 photos and half of them are duplicates.

Lightroom is currently on version 3.3. If you are using 1.5 you would need to update.

I've been dealing with this for months if not a year. CC is up to date. What's the status? It's been 3 months since any updates and this is not resolved.

You should install the update to Lr 4.0. It has a fix for this issue.

I'd love to but I don't get the choice to. CC just says up to date in-app and on the webpage

Come on, I have deadlines. How can I update to 4.0 when Creative Cloud says 3.4 is the most up to date? I've quit the application, restarted the compurer, etc.

If your OS meets the minimum requirements and you refresh the Creative Cloud App, then the update will show. Do you meet minimum OS requirements for 4.0?

If I'm wrong, please let me know so I can find a workaround with a different program. I cant understand how this only affect certain people.

For anyone on this thread still experiencing this issue, we would like to collect a log file from you to further diagnose.

Restart Lightroom

Attempt a large export that fails

For LrDesktop

Go to Preferences

Account Section

Hold down the [Opt/Alt] key to make [Diagnostic Log] button appear

Post here when you have a file ready and I will email you to collect it.

Thanks for your continued assistance.
