Lightroom Desktop: Allow for a second monitor

Yeah, maybe we should have, but a large part of this is the naming confusion. I don’t think it’s completely unreasonable to assume that a software suite entitled “Lightroom CC” would, well, have the same feature set as a software suite entitled “Lightroom CC”.

Johan - I don’t agree that a v1.0 product should necessarily have missing features , particularly a fully chargeable product that builds on ten years understanding of what customers need, not to mention an existing code base. It’s claimed to be designed for use by professionals...
Overall i’m reasonably impressed by the migration process, and I’m looking into ways of using Classic with CC to get the right mix of features I need, but it seems that it is down to third parties to lead the way forward.
I’m not convinced that Adobe’s useability testing of the CC version has been completely effective, probably indicative of a somewhat cavalier attitude to its customers.
Perhaps a roadmap of when some of the basic features will reappear would be helpful.

Of course there will be features that simply have nog been added yet. If Adobe could use the code base to instantly add anything and everything that Lightroom Classic has, you would wonder why they introduced Lightroom CC in the first place.

Trialing Lightroom CC after using Capture one. No dual screen capacity in a 2018 product? What a joke! Still dabbling with other features before deciding whether to subscribe, but no dual screen capacity will be a killer for me. Wake up Adobe, your competitors have the edge in this regard.

That's comparing apples with oranges. You need to be comparing LR Classic with Capture One for a more meaningful comparison. Lightroom CC is the brand new cloud-centric app.

Does that mean I will have to pay more when CC is finished? (I don't believe it is yet at its minimal viable product state - there are significant use cases missing and quite significant defects)

I wouldn't have thought so, at least in the short-term. The point of the subscription licensing is that it is supposed to facilitate ongoing enhancements/feature improvements, unlike the perpetual licensing model which didn't. So if you subscribe, you should expect to see ongoing changes (as we saw with the recent version 1.1 update), though like all subscriptions I would expect the pricing will always be under review. But I don't work for Adobe, so I'm just speculating. My own Adobe subscription which I started more that 4 years ago has increased very very slightly in that period (mainly due to currency fluctuations).

I'm sure you're already aware, but you can just pick up the LR window and move it to your large screen. Or the Classic subscription is the same price, unless you need large amounts of cloud storage.

Yes, thank you for reminding us that windows can move. The difference is with second monitor support you, we’d be able to be zoomed in to some part of the image while adjusting and editing, while simultaneously seeing that same image, zoomed out and fit to the screen, on the *second* screen. So you dial in the details, while still seeing the end result update live. You don’t have to zoom in and out, in and out, in and out...
