Lightroom Desktop: Additional options needed when exporting

So it sucks that we have to use a computer just to export our presets as DNG files .It will be dope if we can just make a preset and save our photo as a DNG so we can share some of our presets with others.
DNGs are very popular and just don’t get the right attention from you guys and if you let us do this I’m 100% the app will be better.

This issue is Ultra frustrating and I can't believe I'm spending my entire day figuring this out, I would appreciate it if you could take the time to read this post and discuss this issue

Your software LR CC has some serious color space issues depending on which device you export from, The way the color reacts to social media is different, the image color and gamma is different it's a total mess guys and gals...

Ideally, I would share my edits straight from LR CC to my friends or clients using the Share Function and online gallery however


The images and respectively.. the color to be exact do not correctly/accurately translate into social media services such as Instagram or export correctly full stop from LR it'self at all depending on the device you export from... LR CC has no redundancy between apps and devices what so ever!

I wanna say now that I love LR CC and LR classic and the way CC works between devices with presets is  incredible, I love taking pictures editing on my lightweight Ipad then fishing them off on my phone... but this issue is beyond stupid

-What's the main issue TLDR-

1. Lightroom CC Exports sRGB, or RAW files color space and gamma visually wrong straight out of LR CC depending on the device you use (Desktop or mobile)
2. Lightroom CC Exports sRGB, or RAW files color space and gamma correctly visually but in the wrong format so once imported into Instagram (Example) the colors will transform incorrectly cause the format must be wrong

Here is a list of images exported from my devices

--Instagram / Social media format problems--

Below is an "sRGB jpeg" image exported through Lightroom CC (Desktop) and imported into Instagram.
This is exactly how I edited the image in LR CC/Classic


This is the exact same "sRGB Jpeg" image exported from Lightroom CC (Mobile - Pixel 2 XL) instead and then imported into Instagram... and it is definitely not How I edited the image almost like it's an AdobeRGB Image being transformed

Here is the same comparison of the same images next to each other

Both images were imported into Instagram through the same phone (Pixel 2 XL) as the exact same image (Jpeg sRGB) but the only difference was I exported the image from LRCC from Desktop on one, and mobile on the other




Exported from LR CC Mobile Ipad Pro, this one is tough to see but when you see the change in person it's big, Original image is a .ARW raw image above is as edited once into Instagram you see the colors change (Once again no problem when exporting from desktop CC)




Same as above but with Pixel 2 XL, Colors fade badly! but once again this issue dosnt occur if you export the same way from Desktop LR CC




--LR CC ISSUES EXPORTING--

This issue is LRCC it's self and not Instagram related, Mobile Pixel 2 XL can't export .ARW files correctly at all, left is as seen on Mobile right is after export

Before you say this is an Instagram problem, it's not because any image exported from LR Classic or LR CC Desktop as Jpeg sRGB will load perfect 1:1 into Instagram, it's purely the way LR CC Mobile exports Jpeg images from other devices.

LR CC is ultra inconsistent in how it treats color after export depending on the device I seem to use and exports weird formats that don't work well with social services such as Instagram

All I can say is that if you export from Desktop LR CC you will get the best color, the best resolution (DESPITE picking maximum on all devices) and a working image for Instagram with no problem 10/10 times, with Ipad or Mobile phone it's a gamble

I won't go into how a "Maximum resolution export" on mobile isn't even the same size as a "Maximum resolution export" on LR CC Desktop...
Please please look into this because It adds so much headache trying to share photos to Mobile and desktop users when you're already using LR CC it's got sharing functions built-in but the exporting of color is wrong

When I save a Lightroom Mobile image to my Android device, it is shown in all image libraries with today's date. If I look into the metadata, the capture date (which is correct and available in Lightroom mobile) is not saved in the downloaded images. This makes my Lightroom use case completely broken. I hope for your solutions, Mathias

How do I save in TIFF format ? How do I decide the size of the picture ? How do I save into a specifik folder ?

Using Lightroom desktop (cloud version), your choices are original format or JPEG. You have no options for size. But on the output dialog there is a place for you to specify the folder. Lightroom Classic has more options, but that's another program and another story.

I'm really happy with the direction Lightroom CC is headed.  I love that everything is stored in the cloud and easily shared, if so desired.  However, with most everything in life, this has it's setbacks.

One of the modules I liked the most was the map module.  I love the improvements to the information.  If you have GPS information, it'll produce a map for that individual picture.  However, I enjoyed seeing a map and where I have taken pictures.  I'm hoping this will be available in future updates.

I imported the same picture into Lightroom Classic CC and Lightroom CC.  I noticed that when saving the full-sized JPG from both versions, the Lightroom CC was smaller than the Lightroom Classic CC.  Additionally, Lightroom CC currently only allows users to save in JPG or the original (with settings).  I'd like to see the other formats available in future updates.

I have to import and edit about 1,000 photos from three events. I need to be able to work with these photos, rename them, resize them to a specific 1500x1000 pixels at 72 dpi, and store them for my client. I don't want to store them in my Adobe Cloud. 
I subscribe to Adobe Creative Suite Cloud. 
I got on a chat with Adobe and the guy was helpful. As a subscriber to the Cloud, I can scroll down the list of software and find the Adobe Lightroom Classic. I'm downloading it now.
I do NOT want all the photos I edit stored in the Adobe Cloud. For one thing, they are not my photos. I edit and post photos for my clients. The client stores the photos on their server or on their Google Drive cloud.

Currently there is only 2 resolution options when sharing your images in Lightroom mobile (i.e. small - 2048px and max available) which makes the app completely useless. There needs to be a feature which allows you to edit export settings. I don’t even have a laptop anymore but only an iPad Pro and this needs fixing asap. For example, sharing images on social media makes it impossible because you can’t adapt resolution and upon upload the image will be compressed. Please fix this.

If this is an image that was synchronized from Lightroom Classic, then it is a smart preview and not a full sized image. 2048 is the maximum size that is synchronized, and that is all that is available. The only way to get full-size images into Lightroom for the cloud is to import them directly into that program.

Need to be able to export/save files with a new filename.

Happy to confirm that with the latest update on Android, some export options (Being able to choose between JPG, TIF and DNG. Quality of selected format. Keeping the original name. Some metadata related options etc.) are available now after a "very long" wait!

Great to see Android got this feature. Unfortunately, the latest Lightroom update for iOS didn't get this feature.

Lightroom Desktop 3.0 and Lightroom Android 5.0 were released earlier today with enhancements to the Export functionality. Please give it a try and let us know what you think. 

iOS users should expect this functionality in a future update.

Ive tried using the latest LR mobile for Andriod with the new export functionality, but it is neither exporting with the SRGB tag nor with the color profile embedded. Can someone else help to verify this? Doesn't seem to be working. I've tried SRGB and even Adobe RGB settings

Can you please add better export and crop options to Lightroom CC for iPad. The custom crop option has no way of knowing the crop radio. It would be nice to have more options than just maximum available for exporting. Options like what the desktop version for both would be much appreciated.
