Lightroom Desktop: Ability to add watermarks to images

Not at all, but should be more secured for copyright, don’t you believe? Is up to you!!!

Not at all... as soon as you put a pic on the web, it’s easy to copy and remove any watermark.
The only thing you can use to prove it’s your is to own the RAW file :)

Agree, but it is not so easy when you put many watermarks. Anyway, always when I put and image on web it is in the lower resolution . Tks

Not just for copyrights, but people may want to know who is the photographer. Besides, it's your brand.

Well, I added iWatermark app to my new iPad Pro, so I can at least use this new iPad for photo editing. What I’m realizing very fast is Adobe is lagging behind very quickly in updating all their software. I see comments some times that they are working, but I have a theory, that they will soon be left in the dust. I’ve seen many other programs that are coming out and as soon as they get as robust as Adobe, they will soon leave them behind. It appears, just like Microsoft and Apple, that we the people are their mice to do all their R&D and then bump into walls until a doorway opens. Other engineers in other companies are mice who are doing something to create ways around to get to the endgame. This is not just a Lightroom, photoshop or design problem. This is a company wide problem. I’ve been a designer for 30 years and seen Adobe abandon one of their best flagship programs (Fireworks) to piecemill their other programs down into little segmented apps that people could buy or now rent never own. It’s turned into a drive up window for the world to consume. They don’t care about their loyal customers in any platform. To say otherwise would be crazy. I’m on several other forums and see nothing but crying mice about the Adobe Maze. This is strictly a Leadership issue with no direction, but to capital gain. They will lose in the end. Sorry Adobe, but your base is leaving you. Try iWatermark to get your protection you need and it offers PNG watermark signatures in a work around by pasting your png from Pages into the app and saving it as a watermark. Works excellent, even on batch photos. As soon as I find other apps for the iOS platform to do my other work, I will be fully independent and free of the mice maze that Adobe has created.

I honestly think they are moving with the trend of camera phones! They want to be the leader on that platform..... but they must realize, the professionals and most matured aren’t using frigging I phones to take shots with! It’s all the stupid selfies, and the younger generation that take photos and instantly upload to social media! Frustrating!

Kindly include WATERMARK in next update... That's the MINIMUM requirement for professionals !

Seriously, this is fundamental functionality that I had in my Classic version. I finally bit off on the upgrade, only to find out I've LOST key functionality. Seriously disappointing.

Brigitte, it sounds like you installed Lightroom Desktop instead of Lightroom Classic. Lightroom Desktop is a new product (2 years old) Lightroom Classic (which has watermarking) has been around for 13+ years.  Double check to make sure you installed the intended upgrade.

Oh no, you can do that. You just do it in the Explorer/Finder window that opens to add new presets, then restart LR. Only one folder deep still though.

Undocumented Partial Feature!

Er, they've been working on the features that even MORE people requested. Text watermarks have just been added to the mobile apps, which means it's definitely on their radar.
