Lightroom Desktop 3.4 (as well as 3.2 and 3.3) crash on load for one user profile on macOS 10.15.7

Hi there,

I've been having this issue for quite some time now. Whenever I try to open Lightroom CC under my normal user profile on macOS, it immediately crashes. This first started happening after I had imported some photos, and the upload seemed to have stalled so I had to forcibly close Lightroom.

Interestingly... I created a new user profile in macOS, and it works fine.

I've been submitting the crash dumps to Adobe support for months to no avail. I spoke with Adobe technical support, and their advice was to downgrade to Lightroom 3.1 which seems to work. I can't include the crash dump here as there is a 30,000 character limit on posts and no option that I can see to attach a file.

I've tried complete uninstall and reinstall, even following the Adobe documentation on manually cleaning up files to ensure it's complete... but it still doesn't work. I've also completely removed the local version of the catalogue but to no avail.

Any thoughts would be greatly welcome! I'm not particularly wanting to reinstall macOS, or create a brand new user profile to be able to use Lightroom again.

Photoshop works fine, as does the Creative Cloud app by the way.

Cheers,

Nick

Do you see this same problem after updating to Lightroom Desktop 4.0, released earlier today?
