Solved

Lightroom CC: Won't load any photos, just a spinning blue wheel for days (Win 10)

For the last few weeks i've not been able to use Lightroom CC (windows 10),  due to it not being able to load anything. No collections or images, it wont even show how much space i have on the cloud etc. It says its licensed to me, and LR Classic and Photoshop open fine using this account, as does the Cloud app. i just have the blue spinning wheel. Ive logged in and out many times, rebooted, re-installed LR CC. Going nowhere.
If i try and load any images that are already in the Cloud i get an error message, so re importing them wont work.

Hi Dave, sorry we missed your thread. That does sound incredibly frustrating. I'm guessing you've done all the normal stuff like rebooting. Have you tried resetting preferences? To do so, hold down the Alt and Shift keys while starting LRCC. Worst case scenario, you could go for the nuclear option and wipe out the local cache and let it download again, but let's try to find a better solution.

Hi Victoria. Thanks for the reply., yes, done all the usual and have uninstalled it a couple of times. At one time it did show me how much space i had on the Cloud, and then this all disappeared and never came back. This was all within a min or so of it starting up.

It did used to work before i started using two different accounts on the one PC.

That's interesting... does it still work in the other account?

I had a different error come up earlier. A large window with a black background., It said something about not being able to move some files. I have never seen this before, and cant get it to come up since.

Hi Dave,

Sorry you're having trouble. I know you've said you've tried the "usual" stuff but does that include turning off "Use Graphics Processor" in preferences?

If that doesn't work try the steps in this post and let me know if it helps:

Hi Rick, I have the exact same problem and tried the steps your link provided, but it didn't seem to work, please help. I edit photos and my friends are expecting them for her birthday and I do not want to disappoint.

(edit): I think what the main problem I was having was step #4, I did not know what it meant by "delete or move the files to the desktop location in one single folder."

No, it works on Windows 2. This is a very old thread now, so the the issue may have changed. Tell us more about what you're seeing Val? It might be worth starting a new thread.

Hi Rick.
I owe you big time. I followed the steps in that thread and after getting an error when i first opened LR CC, on the second launch i now have everything back to normal (well, syncing again anyway).

Thanks for the tip off, life is back on track :-)
