Lightroom CC: Sync Status: Not Backed Up, Corrupt original

try to sync my raw files with the cloud, but every time I get a message that says "Not Backed Up, Corrupt original". I can open every every file that seems to be corrupt without any problems via Mac Finder and also work with them in Lightroom CC, but it won't sync with the cloud. 



I already updated Lightroom cc to version 1.2 and I tried to solve it with the known issues https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-cc/kb/known-issues.html#SyncingLightroomphotos

I also have done a lot of work on my picture and I don't want to waste that time. Is there any way to fix these issue? The Raw files are on a external disk, connected to the Macbook.

They suggested to me to add more information here, so here we go:

Usally I Import my Raw files from a the SD-Card to an external SSD-Disk (Mac OS Extended (journaled)) connected with my Macbook. The pictures are made with an EOS M3, so its a Canon RAW file. The database .libary is still on the default folder. After that I adjust the pictures, export some of these and (because I am still traveling) if I have a good internet connection I will sync them with the adobe cloud via Lightroom cc. After a while I try to sync my pictures I get this message

I read about a bug, that if you work with adobe Lightroom CC and an external disk, if you disconnect the disk before a complete sync of the pictures, it creates this message. But the originals are not corrupt. 
Lightroom tells me that I have to re-import the pictures. But then all of my work on every single picture is gone and I don't want to waste that time. There are around 2000 pictures affected.
Also:
If I look at Photo Online Editor I see that there should some pictures, but the Raw files are missing. It looks like this:

It looks like the Metadata exists but the picture does not. 
 
When I try to import the same picture again, it will be recognized as a duplicate. If I try to import the picture from the Lightroom CC Catalogue folder where the original pictures are, it will be still corrupt. But if t take the same picture and copy it to a different folder and import it, its not corrupt anymore and is uploading to the cloud. So it seems there is a bug in the database, because these pictures are definitely not corrupt, they are ok.

This is how I've solved this problem:
  1. Option/Alt Click the cloud/sync icon in the top right, this will display all the photos that were "corrupt"
  2. Select all these photos and keyword them with something like "corrupt"
  3. Export the photos using the "Save To..." in reasonable batches (I've been going year by year, select the year then filter by keyword and export into a directory corrupt/2018 for example) make sure to choose "Original+Settings"
  4. Delete the batch from Lightroom CC
  5. Add all the photos from the folder (corrupt/2018)
  6. Wait until that batch has correctly synced before moving to the next, keep your external drive plugged in
Some things to know:
  • This does seem to maintain all edits, flags, stars and keywords
  • I don't think it puts photos back in albums, if you love your albums, keyword the photos in the albums so you can keep track and put them back in
  • If you had two copies of a photo, and say only one had synced, you won't be able to reimport the corrupted one (Lightroom CC just plain  doesn't seem to allow importing a known duplicate)
  • I'm working under the assumption that none of the files were actually corrupt... I have no idea what would happen to a real corrupt file, I assume it wouldn't export in step 3 and throw and error.
  • I don't work with videos, I assume this would work though
Hope this helps. As always backup before trying this. For now I'm keeping my old Lightroom Classic libraries on the side, maybe I'll find a way to work with both Lightrooms for a bit, for now Lightroom CC just seems way too unstable.

I'd expect it to lose flags, collections & stacks as they're not written to the files, but the title/caption/copyright/location, stars, keywords and edits should stay.

Flags are maintained, collections/albums are lost. I never work with stacks so decided to test, and they cause a huge issue:

Lightroom CC will only export the top photo in a stack, but delete all photos in a stack. Perhaps others can think of a way around this?

I'm still seeing this problem today, with Lightroom 2.3. 1860 files marked this way, spread across many albums.

Is a fix still in the works?
