Lightroom CC sorting by capture date?

Lightroom CC: Although it says it sorts pictures by capture date, it does not.  Instead, it sorts them by the date  when the pictures are added to Lightroom CC from Lightroom Classic.  The capture date is not changed when processing with LR classic.  Therefore, the date taken by LT CC is the incorrect one.

The best you can do is to rename the pictures when making the import in LR. Then you can give the capture date as picture name. This will give you an automatic sorting.

To do so: you must ask to change the name in the import procedure. You mus have the following name structure: AAAAMMJJ-picture suffix. This will guarantee you to never have twice the same picture name

Thank you for this information.  I did not realize that it was renaming the pictures. It is fortunate that I use a similar structure for naming my pictures in LR classic. I'll try what you suggest.  Thanks again.
