Lightroom CC: Show the file name for the image being worked on

What if, I know this is crazy! BUT, what IF you showed the FILENAME OF THE FILE BEING WORKED ON SOMEWHERE IN THE WINDOW!!! WOULDN'T THAT BE INSANE????

Not only is it insane..it actually happens. I see two refernces to 5he filename. One at the top of the image and one above tbe filmstrip...in develop mode.

Did u turn those options off?

Classic confusion. He is referring to Lightroom CC, you are referring to Lightroom Classic.

Which version? Filename is available in all versions of the app.

Lacking the feature of finding duplicates in Lightroom, I ran PhotoSweeper on the folder containing my local 'Original Files'. This found an example of why it might be useful to be able to see actual storage information of the files within Lightroom itself:
It found two files: IMG_0279.JPG and IMG_0279-2.JPG. Searching for those files within Lightroom found both, only within Lightroom the INFO panel gives the same File Name for both photo's.

The only way to link the images in Lightroom to the files on disk is by looking at the file size, which in this case was different... Note that on the iPad app, file size is not shown, which is strange in itself.

It would be nice to have the good old ALT-F3 WordPerfect 'Reveal Codes' equivalent for Lightroom: showing the information actually available in the catalog.

I agree, although the lack of information in general while in Edit mode is frustrating. It'd be nice to even know what filetype was being worked on. The only clue you might get is if you check the Profiles that are available.

Completely agree: Insane. And not only when editing: One of the most useful features is the ability to share an album online directly with a client - but without the option of having the filename showing (like the recently added filetype overlay) BOTH on the desktop and in lightroom on the web, communicating about images is so difficult, that it is near enough impossible. I actually love the simplicity and the fast workflow of Lightroom CC, however it is failing miserably on the simple things (anyone mention renaming files lately...? he he he).
