Lightroom CC: No support to external ssd (mac, apfs formatted)?

I use Lightroom CC on a 2015 MacBook. I have an external ssd - formatted with Apple APFS Filesystem (as recommended from Apple) and connected with USB3.

I can not save local copies of the files (or SmartPreviews) on the ssd (when i change the location in the options) because Lightroom says theres is no permission to save the file.

An other external Harddisk formatted with HFS+ works correctly!

So it seems, the Lightroom CC does not support the Apple Filesystem APFS on External Harddrives.

Is it possible to change that?

Thank you!

Greetz

It sounds like you may need to use the Mac OS to adjust permissions on the drive so that your User Account has full read/write permissions.  If Lightroom cannot access the drive after modifying the permissions, check your APFS settings and make certain you aren't using a case-sensitive option.

Hi Rikk,

Tranks for your reply. The Permissions are not the problem in my opinien. On the same external ssd drive i use the Apple Photos photos.db with iCloud sync and it works without a problem.
