Lightroom CC: Export as Original/RAW/DNG with all applied settings

Many of my older photos are DNG; the newer are NEF. Regardless, when I use LRCC 1.5 to Export as Original (+Settings File), the Settings files do not have any of the adjustments I've made in LRCC.

What we need is an Export as TIFF/DNG/RAW with all the settings applied.

The XMP settings file (or the embedded metadata in case of DNG) does contain the adjustments!

When you export a TIFF or JPEG 'as original', then you obviously get an unedited image (otherwise it would not be the original). The adjustments are in the metadata however, so if you open this TIFF or JPEG in Camera Raw you will see them.

In what are you viewing this Settings file in order to determine that it doesn't have the adjustments?

If I make adjustments in LRCC 1.5, then Export as Original, the NEF/DNG do NOT contain the adjustments I've made. They contain the original adjustments made at the time of the first import.

LRCC 1.5 does not give me the option of exporting as TIFF - only LR Classic.

I just checked that and it's simply not true, at least not for DNG. I made an edit on a DNG file in Lightroom CC, exported it as original + settings, opened it in Photoshop (Camera Raw), and I see the edit I just made.

e.g. workflow

I have 10 images in LRCC. Imported as NEF. I made adjustments to all 10.

I want to edit these in HeliconFocus as the set is a focus-stack.

I export as Original. I open the NEF files in LR Classic. None of my adjustments are there. I have to re-apply all my adjustments. PITA.

Another workflow - what if I want to backup my LRCC files? I want to export all my adjustments/metadata. No way to do that.

When the NEF files are exported, they should be accompanied by an XMP sidecar file. Did you make sure that this sidecar file was still in the same folder when you imported the files in Lightroom Classic?

Dear Adobe developers, an export format with lossless compression (e.g. TIFF) is urgently needed! Just to remind you, TIFF was taken over by you (Adobe) in 1994, so please step up your game!
