Lightroom CC: Can I search by filename or am I doing something wrong?

Is Lightroom CC incapable to search by filename or am I doing something wrong?

What version of Lightroom CC? Lightroom CC for the desktop can certainly search by file name. Lightroom CC for iOS can do it too.

Doesn't work. I'm trying to search for a part of a file name say, 3037 which, is a photo in a batch and LR CC doesn't turn up anything. LR Classic works — obviously, but that's not my main workflow.

Running LR CC v1.4.

In Lightroom CC 1.4, search on part of a file name simply doesn't work. No results are returned; I get an "Oh no! A black hole!" for searches that should have dozens of results. In other words, search doesn't work for me at all.

Same here, you have to type in the whole filename. It works with either the filename, or the filename suffix though (before and after the dot), so you can search for 'NEF' or 'JPG' etc.

Mystery solved. The default for seach in LR is exact match. To search by partial filename, put a wildcard asterik * before and after the search term.

Lightroom CC: does not find a file typed in the following format (with quotes) "Scan010-001.jpg". Also gives result Scan099-010" for the search "Scan010*.jpg". As is typical of this product there is no basic help function available.. Such a fine product with so many remarkable holes.

How about without quotes? I can search for file names just fine, and if I type in just the first part of a file name, then Lightroom CC finds all the files that begin with that part.

If I type in (without quotes) Scan010-001.jpg I get all the files that begin with Scan010 and all those that end with either 010.jpg or 001.jpg. Not much help. Where are the syntactical rules? Are wild cards OK? Why should this be trial and error?

Same problem here. Costs me so much time, that this functionality does not work.
