You can longpress on any photo in library and Select more photos to delete.

Mark the applicable photo's as rejected, then, if sure, choose Remove Rejected Photo's (also from Disk). That's the quick way!!

Can you clarify exactly which version you're trying to do this on? It's possible on all versions, but the instructions differ.
