Ideas to Improve People
I have been using the People (face recognition) feature since it has been out, I like it, but and I have a few things I wish Adobe would consider.
1. Be able to see which person in the photo it is asking me to tag. I wish it would let me hover over a face to see who it is saying is who. (Yes, I'm suggesting you "borrow" that from Facebook). The app presents me with a face and ask if this person is in the photo. While this is a yes, it never really tells me who exactly in the picture it is referring to. I find this frustrating with siblings that look alike in the same photo or set of photos. For the purposes of algorithms, my sons look alike. When LRCC presents me with a photo of one kid in a photo with both kids, I never really know if it is tagging all the faces in all the pictures.
2. A real Trash or Forget folder. I don't want to just hide people. There are people I will never have a desire to tag, and I don't want to waste my time hiding them. The Forget Folder would be random people in the background and others that I just need to go away. I want a place for people I really don't want to tag. To me "hiding" has a different implication. I may hide people I know (and have already tagged) because I don't want to see them everyday, but I want the memory of them somewhere. Thinking of Exs or other complicated life stuff.
3. Grouped people tags. This may seem counter to the people/ faces recognition, but I would love it. Going back to my item 2, there are people I don't care to tag as individuals, but would not mind grouping them. An example of this are my kids classmates. I don't want to tag each of them. But I can imagine in the future my kids wanting to reminisce about a grade and wanting to pull-up pictures of classmates. I would want to be able to tag all the classmates into one tag (Johnny's classmate), and anytime LRCC see a given face, it then gets the hint that the person is part of this non-specific group. I wouldn't mind a person being only assigned to one group. I also wouldn't even mind if I have to manually tag the same person over and over again. I just don't want to hide people that I have a semi-specific category for in my head.
