Find Photos that are in all Photos but not in any album

I have 25,000 photos in all photos but only 20,000 that are in albums.  I need to identify these so I can put them in albums or delete them.

That can be done with a smart collection:

Hello Tom, to solve this problem, I added a star to all my photos, then I removed the stars from the photos in the albums, I did a search at the top to find the pictures that have stars and I classified them

You could also add a 'helperkeyword' to all your new imported images and remove this when added to a collection

These work-arounds are doubtless useful, but the real question is why have all synched photos automatically been ripped from their collections. When I stop collections from synching, the images from them remain in All Photos. That really is a nuisance. I use Lr Classic and never want to stop my photos online.

The real question is which Lightroom Tom is referring to. He talks about 'Albums', not 'Collections' and about 'All Photos', not 'All Photographs', so I think it might be Lightroom CC, not Lightroom Classic.

My answer was for Lightroom CC

The stars works well
