Disable forced upload to cloud

Lightroom CC requires the ability to select what is uploaded, and what is not.  I know that this is a GEN 1 version, but I need to be able to use it exactly like I do Lightroom Classic CC.  For the most part, I NEVER want to upload anything automatically.  If anything, I will explicitly select and upload the files that I want in the cloud.

I have a 28TB NAS, soon to be 80TB, and I have absolutely no need for, nor would I ever want, large 3rd party cloud storage.  I only use it for finished products on a temporary basis.  My NAS replicates everything that I need to all machines that I need it to replicate to, even when I'm on the road.  Synology makes AWESOME products, and there is no way that I could afford this storage in the cloud.

I'd recommend that you rethink your opinion of cloud storage.  However good your NAS is, I very much doubt that it would protect you from theft, flood, fire, earthquake, tornado, or other natural disasters.  The only safe backup is backup is in at least two locations.

I think the approach needed here is more... discriminating.  Lightroom unclassic should always upload smart previews to the cloud (just as classic can), and should do these first to ensure that at least something is backed up.

It should only then upload original quality images, but you should be given the opportunity to prioritise these.  Perhaps by rating, on a folder/album basis, or a combination of the two, with "never" being one of the available options.

For this to work we'd need much better feedback on sync status, including time estimates to complete uploads (separately for high/med/low priority).  We'd also need far better visual indication on each image of upload status - is it waiting, is only the preview uploaded, is the original uploaded? And filters to select just images in each category.
