Sync issues when using Classic with CC

In order to try out both versions I’ve been importing into CC. When I open Classic it pulls down the RAWs like it did in the past if I imported with a mobile device. Problem is, when the photos come from desktop CC it basically renders Classic unusable while they download. It won’t let me do a thing, and just displays loading no matter what. It also takes ages. Like over an hour for a batch of 100 photos. If they originate from iPad it takes a few minutes and Classic responds the entire time. I’ve had this same issue with Classic on Windows and MacOS. Any ideas?

Hi Rick,

Could you please share your system configuration ?
Do you mean to say while the photos are downloading, you cannot do any operation and it just shows 'loading' ?
If yes, then are these operations performed on a synced image or some other image in the catalog ? Also what kind of operations were you performing ?

Did a little bit more digging and found something that may help. When it is stuck the Lightroom CC tab has no sync activity listed, even though the application is trying to sync something. If I connect my laptop to my phone and use it as a mobile hotspot the sync activity list populates like it should. I can then switch back to my wi-fi and the program has no problem downloading those files and the program responds like normal while doing so. It seems it’s getting caught up in retrieving the list of files to be downloaded?

Thanks for your inputs.
Was there any network fluctuations in the wi-fi connectivity ? As you said it works normal if it is connected through mobile hotspot ?
Are the files syncing properly now ?

No network fluctuations.  Internet was rock solid during all this.  I am still having the issue.  Is there a certain port it may be using that I could check and see if I'm using it for something else and port forwarding is causing issues?  Just throwing ideas out there.  Weird that it worked once I dropped off my local network.

I've tried it on a self built Windows PC as well as my MacBook Pro.  Same exact issue.  My primary device is my MacBook Pro.  It is a 2016 15inch model.  Quad Core i7, 16gb ram. Never had this issue before.  

What will happen is Lightroom  Classic will be performing just fine.  Until I import photos into CC.  Classic will then start to try and pull those down.  At that point I cannot do anything at all.  No matter what collection, folder, or folder I click on I just get the LOADING until the sync is done.  The thing is the sync takes hours for a handful of photos.  My internet is plenty fast and is running great.  I can pull these same photos down on an install of Lightroom CC on another computer in about 5 minutes.  I attached a screenshot of what I'm seeing.
